T-Rex and Co

Just realised I haven't blogged in ages!

Anways, thought I'd blog about my German adventure. what a trip! I really wish I we extended out trip as it was a real great experience.

Analise and I ( from now on in this blog she will either be referred to and Trex or Anal for memories sake) departed on Thursday at 2.30 pm. The following is a brief outline of out trip.

Thursday:

After no doubt giving the impression that we were a couple, the air hostess (who's a colleague of mine) brought us two bottles of champagne , 7 vodka and a couple of soft drinks for our stay in Germany, all free of charge! We got club class treatment ! The idea of a ziblata began brewing....

c. 5 pm arrive in Zurich - we had approx 3 mins to buy the train tickets. Due to the punctuality of German trains we obviously missed the train to konstanz and while waiting for the next train we began wondering whether we had ended up at the wrong place since it was called flughafen. some moments after searching for the flughafen town we realised that flughafen does in fact mean air port!

c. 6 30 pm arrive in konstanz. We caught a glimpse of Matt and Mike waiting at the station . OK we were in the right place! After pulling T rex's lime green, massive, carpisa luggage off the train we deposited our luggages and went round Konstanz. We ended up at this really posh bar where there was this amazing live band playing.

Day 2:

Spent the night with Mike while Analise spent it with Matt. After our doctors to be hurried off to work for the morning , T-rex and Co ventured to Konstanz ...alone.... yes alone (and we didn't get lost!) After a shopping spree we met Mat and Mike to purchase groceries and of course our lovely enamel, 20 euro pasta borma. Back at the apartment I made muffins and Fortnumn and Mason earl grey tea and Pasta ammatricciana for supper! We spent the evening watching Anal's rather raunchy films.

Day 3

After a good night's sleep made Matt b'fast in bed. We then spent the day in Zurich with Chris! Amazing place! This is where the purchase of my levis drainpipes (which Mike hasn't stopped teasing me about) occurred. The toilets in MC Donald's in Zurich have a code to enter! Fancy stuff... i think i should spare you the rest of the details for those of you who don't already know.

In the evening we returned to Konstanz, played drinking games with Chris and proceeded to the flat where we consumed some of our airline drinks. T rex traumatised Matt by making water sounds when he was in need of a loo.

Day 4

Woke up at 11! Lazed about, made everyone b'fast. Went to Mass in German (quite an experience). sat by lake Constance with a guitar.

Day 5

Woke up at 6. Lots of tears and hugs since we were leaving. After Mike and Matt left for work, T rex and I packed, wrote a thanks you letter to M&M and left for Konstanz with lime green, carpisa and my over weight d&n luggage. After going round the town till our train to the airport was due we realised that we had in fact booked the wrong train. After long arguments we did realise that the train did end up in Zurich though it had a connection! We were soon back at Flughafen where we came from.

What a great trip :D:D:D

hope my travel diary didn't bore you :P

Awake from the dead

I think this is the longest break I've had from blogging ever! My life has been just too busy to even use facebook , let alone blog!!
A little about what's been going on in my life; basically loads of meetings and socialising (especially before Matt and Mike left seeing that we had to enjoy their company to the max.) . I also finished off my commissioned paintings. I love the end result! This is what the end result looked like:

This weekend we also had the Guy's weekend which turned out very well. God really worked in great ways throughout the weekend we did however find out that our Kenya trip may have to be cancelled due to circumstances which we cannot control. However, this is not certain as yet. I've also got renewed doubts about my choice of course. I still am thinking whether I should actually be doing this course. Its too much of a hard decision to make but i don't want to procrastinate it!
These past 3 days have been Matt and Mike less. Mi manchi molto ( or however who say it!) I miss you both a lot. the island is boring without you! I shall compose and ode and upload soon to recall exam times!
Finally just wanted to upload a sketch i did in the last Youthful worship(which was great may I add) I don't know if it will mean anything for any of you but thought I'd take the chance.

The writing reads: Rid me from this confusions, despair and sadness. let me be for one moment, at least a bit Free!

What a summer!

Summer's been great so far!

Yesterday was a night of madness!

After the party we ended up at Time Square where stuff happened. Where I ended crying with laughter which resulted in Matt dying and ideas of TPing people's cars!

The TPing did not actually occur in the end but the excitement of it was enough. However, we did end up swimming at like 3 am (or later) at exiles. Twas awesome. I shall not continue the descriptions for the sake of those of you who weren't there.

I am so relieved to have time to paint again! I haven't painted properly for sometime now due to exams. I am currently working on a triptych of salt pans as a commission. These are some pictures of the triptych on progress:

As i said they are still in progress so still some stuff I need to arrange. I shall now be off to visit my grandmother.

90% summer!

I finally got some time to blog/vlog! This week has been hell! Structures, followed by fluid mechanics, followed by prayer followed by concrete! What a marathon! At least the writtens are all over! Now time to get down to some serious design!
Just a couple of things which happened this week:

Humphrey:

11pm (on some study day)

Studying was in full swing and when all of a sudden i heard the sound of smashing metal. Knowing that we had a mouse in the garden which has been residing there for a good 9 months I ran down the spiral staircase and down into the garden in hope to find the entrapped rodent only to find a shivering, petrified Humphrey/Max trapped instead of the mouse. By the way Humphrey is a hedge hog for those of you who don't yet know.

Last studying vlog ( or so i hope....)

In the break down of studying concrete decided to re vlog!

While painting...

Some thoughts came up while painting and listening to as worship central talk.

In 1 Kings 18 it mentions how the Elijah but the prophets of Baal to the test by telling them to stay along side him and pray for fire to come down for heaven so that their bull could be sacrifice while he too would do the same. Who ever got sent fire first could prove that his god was the real God. After a whole day of dancing, worship and cutting themselves the prophets of Baal remained without a response! No fire, not even the slightest burning ember. Their worship was great. They had all the right things. The people around must have said "wow these people are really great worshipers" . However their worship was extremely shallow. All Elijah needed to do was pray a sincere prayer to God and fire was sent which resulted in the Prophets of Baal exclaiming "the Lord is God!" notwithstanding the fact that they were of a pagan cult. Do we really believe God can do anything? Do we still believe God can send us fire from heaven in 2009? How many times do we say "the Lord is God!" after a worship session instead of saying the music is great!

Quite some deep painting thoughts!

Summer!

My writtens are over! Yesterday went to the beach and got roasted! Now must get back to the design!

"To an unknown God"

HI Guys,

Just a short blog because i don't want to bore you to tears :p But i real felt i should write this to get it out.

Yesterday whilst i was praying and reading Act 17 in my Bible and one phrase really struck me. It's in Acts 17: 23 and says

"I found an altar that had these words written on it : TO AN UNKNOWN GOD".

I don't know why, but this verse really sent the shivers down my spine and I ended up drawing a picture (thanks to SImons pens :D) linked to it in worship. (seen below) It was very quick nothing artistic.

To put you in the picture St Paul was in Athens and after seein all the idols the people were worshiping felt there need to evangelise. He mentions the fact that he came across this inscription on an altar.

The whole scenario shows that the people of Athens were very spiritual, were thirsting for a God who was not known without realising and even built an altar to an unknown God. Anyways I suggest you read Acts 17 you find out the rest.

How many of us are building our own altars to an unknown God? I've realised that out of all the people i know only maybe two or three say they do not believe in God completely. The others all somewhat believe that a God exists - no matter what kind of lifestyle they are leading. They the Athenians, building altars to an unknown God. Today's altars arent made of stone, gold, silver etc but on the other hand, people and trying to fill their lives but indulging in bad habbit, unfavourable lifestyles....not exactly the best way to find the unknown God.

I really think we should try quench these people's thirst!
